Students
Every student has a date of birth; under-18 status is derived from it. A minor requires a named parent/guardian + email (enforced in the database), and a minor is only ever paired with a DBS-verified tutor.

s.35 Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006
We are the regulated activity provider, so where we withdraw a tutor's access over conduct
that harmed a child or put one at risk — including where they resigned before we could
act — we must consider referring them to DBS. Failing to refer without reasonable
justification is an offence. A decision not to refer must still be recorded, with reasons.
